Frequently Asked Questions
-
If you’re reading this, then you probably are ready to give it a go. But if you’re not sure, book in an initial call with me and ask any questions you have.
-
It’s a free call, up to 30 minutes. It’s for you to ask any questions that you have and to get a feel for me as a therapist and as a person.
-
Yes! Who you choose as your therapist is a really personal choice. Probably the most important aspect of therapy is a good relationship between the therapist and the client. Really it’s about who you like, who you connect with and crucially who you feel that you can trust.
-
You do not need to know up front. Some people like to come prepared with a list of things to talk about, others like to come and see what feels important in the moment.
-
Absolutely not! You’re the expert of your life. I’m here to help you understand your self better so that you know what to do.
-
There is no minimum or maximum amount of sessions. You might come with a number of sessions in mind, or continue until you feel content.
-
You can decide how quickly you want to move. We can get straight into it, or build safety and trust before carefully progressing.
-
This is up to you. Most of my clients come either weekly or every other week.
If you need ongoing support and a space to process then I would recommend every other week.
If you are wanting to work on specific issues and want to see real progress I’d recommend every week.

I have an MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Keele University. I specialise in person-centred therapy.
Along with working in private practice I have experience working in different roles within the NHS, supporting cancer patients and the bereaving. I have also worked in the university setting, working with students.
I’m also a therapy tutor at a couple of colleges, which keeps me on my toes with theory! As well as a trustee for The Person Centred Association.
